The future of another metro Detroit mall is up in the air as Eastland Center in Harper Woods hits the auction block Tuesday at noon.
Bidding is set to start at $500,000.
The City of Harper Woods has been discussing a public-private partnership for a mixed-use development which would include a city hall.
The city's concept would include 450,000 square feet of civic space and nearly 700 apartments and row houses. There would also be a hotel and restaurant space.
Eastland Center has been in debt since 2006 and closed in 2015.
The auction will not include former Macy's, Target stores, Lowe's and Home Depot properties.
