Eddie Money to headline rock-heavy Arts, Beats and Eats festival

Royal Oak's largest festival is gearing up for a big Arts, Beats & Eats festival with an all-star, rock-heavy lineup that includes Awolnation, piano-pop veteran Ben Folds and rocker Eddie Money.  

Music and food vendors for the 21st Arts, Beats and Eats, which will run Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 4, in downtown Royal Oak, was announced at 2 p.m. Wednesday. 

More than 200 musical acts, including the Gin Blossoms, Matt Nathanson and county singer Chris Janson, will play at the concert throughout the weekend on one of the eight stages. 

More than 40 restaurants will participate in this year's festival, with Detroit mainstays such as Lockhart's BBQ, Imperial Ferndale and Achatz.
