People from all over southeast Michigan gathered on Eiffel in Warren to take in Christmas lights, with just a few hours left until Christmas.

“I’m 95 percent ready, I’m really close I just have a few gifts to wrap and I’ll be all set I’ll be already to go,” said Jeff Giacobbe of Troy.

Others were a little bit more behind, and took to Somerset Mall to get their shopping done.

“I’ve always been a late shopper all these years and what I can do before I can do again,” said Chris Garritty.

According to the National Retail Federation, about 134 million people will waited until the Saturday before Christmas to complete their shopping. That is up eight million people from last years. Seven percent will wait until Christmas Eve to get their shopping done.

Jim Burdette was able to enjoy the Christmas lights in Warren without a care because he got his shopping done weeks in advance.

“I ordered online, did all my shopping online, everything was delivered to the house it was painless it was easy,” said Burdette.

Christmas lights on Eiffel will glow from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. until Christmas.
