DETROIT (WXYZ) — Vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris campaigned in Detroit on Election Day. She touched down around 1:30 p.m. with events scheduled throughout the afternoon.

While addressing reporters after getting off the plane, Harris said, "The path to the White House and the path to determining who will be the next President of the United States, without question, runs through Michigan."

Harris was also asked about people who fear potential unrest over the election results.

She said that people should have faith that whoever is elected will defend the integrity of our democracy.

The Biden campaign is having events in key battleground states, including Michigan, on Election Day.

Biden plans to travel to Scranton and Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, while his wife, Jill Biden, will travel to Tampa and St. Petersburg, Florida, and Wake County, North Carolina.

Additionally, Harris' husband Doug Emhoff traveled to Columbus.
