EMU in Ypsilanti is getting ready for a first... selling beer at football games.
"It has been an un-utilized space," says Greg Steiner with EMU's athletic department.
An upper portion of the school's stadium will be turned into a bustling beer garden of sorts for this weekend's game against Ball State. Its a trial run to see how fans respond.
They will be served locally sourced craft beer, with a spectacular view of the field.
"[It's] a way to enhance the fan experience here at the stadium," adds Steiner.
Selling beer isn't common place at university stadiums around The Mitten State. So, what EMU is doing is a little different.
Extra security will be on hand to make sure nobody gets out of hand and only those of legal age get served.
