Explosion rocks former credit union on Detroit's east side

Posted

Crews are on scene investigating a possible explosion at a former credit union on Detroit's east side. Evidence techs have been out at the scene to take some more evidence and photos.

Police say early evidence points to a possible gas explosion, and DTE has been on scene to shut off the gas to the property.

Debris flew all the way into the road along Gratiot Ave. after the explosion, which is near Mack Ave.

We'll have more on this explosion throughout the morning.
