Family gathers for vigil in River Rouge as police hunt for suspected killer

RIVER ROUGE, Mich. (WXYZ) — The family of Kimberly Green, 52, held a candlelight vigil and released balloons in her honor on Thursday.

"Our family is devastated," Royce Jackson said. "We want justice."

Jackson is a cousin of Green but called her his sister. He said they were inseparable.

"She was an angel," Jackson said. "We lost a beautiful soul unnecessarily, untimely, for no reason."

Gunfire erupted on the 500 block of Beechwood a week ago. Three people were shot including Green and Dorian Patterson, 48, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The third victim who survived was identified as 44-year-old man, according to River Rouge police.

Kenyel William Brown is wanted for the deaths of Patterson and Green on Jan. 30.

Brown faces 11 felony charges, according to court records. He was charged with second degree murder in 2000 and four vehicle related felonies.

The Marshals are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

Green will be laid to rest on Saturday.
