MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — A family involved in a terrifying vehicle crash in Macomb County would like to find the strangers who came to their aid.
The accident happened near Hickey Road and Gratiot on Dec. 16. Nicole Brace said she and her three children, ages 13, 8, and 5, were in a rollover accident that trapped them inside the vehicle.
Thankfully, they walked away with just minor injuries.
Brace said she was unconscious after the vehicle came to a stop on a utility pole. Her 13-year-old son woke her up and got his siblings and her out the driver's side window as the SUV caught on fire.
They also recall some good Samaritans who rendered aid at the scene.
"There was a construction worker who stopped and gave us jackets and hats to keep us warm," Brace said. "There was another lady who was hugging my children."
She took to social media to find the strangers and to say thank you. Her post has been shared more than 1,000 times in two days.
"I pray this post finds those who helped," Brace wrote. "And also, to give warning to be careful this season and help anyone possible in need. Lastly, thank Jesus every day for his mercy and his blessings."
