Family and friends gathered on Monday to remember the life of a barber who was shot during an altercation at a west side Detroit barber shop.
The victim, Leon Webb, 36, known as "2-4" by family and friends, was shot and killed on Thursday, June 28 at The Final Kut barber shop on 7 Mile Road and Littlefield.
Police say the shooting occurred when two employees got into an argument, which led to a fight. When things escalated, the suspect left the shop and returned with a gun and shot Webb, who reportedly also had a gun.
The family said that Webb shielded a young boy from the gun fire, which resulted in much of Webb's injuries.
The suspect initially fled the scene, but turned himself into police shortly after.
Webb later died at a hospital.
An arraignment for the suspect is expected as soon as Tuesday.
