A Fenton man has been given four terrorism-related charges after reportedly threatening to kill one of 34 co-workers involved in a joint venture between two Southeast Michigan auto suppliers, WJRT reports.
Stephen Challis, who works for Farmington Hills-based Flex Live Smarter Corp., was part of a joint project with the Nexteer Automotive plant in Auburn Hills.
According to WJRT, authories say Challis received information about the project that made him angry and is accused of writing and sending an email to 34 Nexteer employees stating he would kill one of them and that they needed to decide who it would be.
The email was reported to police in Auburn Hills and Farmington Hills, who immediately launched an investigation.
Challis was arraigned Thursday on two counts of terrorism and two counts of using a computer to commit terrorism.
Police also seized two rifles, three laptops, a cell phone and a tablet computer from Challis' home.
