(WXYZ) — Small Business Saturday is on Nov. 30, and it's a time for you to keep your business local and shop small just one day after Black Friday.
The day was started in 2010 by American Express to encourage people to bring more holiday shopping to businesses in their community, therefore keeping the money in their community.
In nine years, the day has grown across the country, with businesses across metro Detroit offering deals for Small Business Saturday
American Express said that since 2010, estimated sales are $103 billion.
