Flames ripped through Lakeside Park Apartments near Hayes and 21 Mile Road in Shelby Township Sunday morning.
The fire began on the second floor and quickly spread to the rest of the building, causing the roof to collapse.
Officials say 16 units in total were damaged; eight units were heavily damaged the fire and roof collapse, while another eight unites at the north end of the building had smoke and water damage.
Everyone made it out safely with no injuries, officials say.
The neighboring building was also evacuated as a precaution.
