One of the owners of Holiday Market says around 5 a.m. workers noticed smoke in the back of the building.
Someone reportedly poured hot ashes into a trash compactor in the loading dock area and the building filled with smoke.
Firefighters were able to get the situation under control quickly.
We're told the market is expected to be open later today.

Royal Oak police say crews are battling a fire at Holiday Market on S. Main Street.
Police say the fire is in the loading dock area of the grocery market. We're told it started in a dumpster toward the back of the building.
