Ford is teaming up with Walmart to explore a self-driving delivery service.
The automaker is already working with Postmates, the retailer's existing delivery partner in Miami.
Over the next couple of months, Ford will work closely with Walmart to understand its operations, identify what goods can be transported and pinpoint any possible issues for delivering orders via self-driving vehicles.
Ford and Walmart have already completed more than 1,000 deliveries as part of the initial phases of the program.
They will use research vehicles, designed to simulate self-driving ones, to deliver many everyday goods like groceries. Ford will then determine what items can best be transported and any issues that need to be addressed.
