WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Kathy Zhu, the former Miss World America Michigan who was stripped of her crown, will be speaking at a Women for Trump event in West Bloomfield Friday.
The luncheon is hosted by the Michigan Conservative Coalition.
Zhu, a University of Michigan student and vice president of the school's College Republicans, had her crown taken the day after it was placed on her head last week.
"They stripped me of my Miss Michigan title due to my refusal to try on a hijab in 2018, my tweet about black on black gun violence, and 'insensitive' statistical tweets," she tweeted Thursday.
Friday's event will begin at noon at The Heathers Club.
