The first annual "Happy, Healthy Kids Fair" is being held on August 13 from 11 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Northwest Activities Center in Detroit.
This is a free event put on by Good Medicine Development, a non-profit organization.
The fair will educate children on how important it is to take care of their bodies through healthy eating, physical activities and annual health screenings starting at a young age.
All kids 17 and under can eat for free and there will be bounce houses, face painting, games, music and much more.
For children with health care, there will be free immunizations on site. If a child does not have health care coverage, it will be $10. However, Good Medicine Development is sponsoring the first 60 children that do not have health care.
“I think that it is vital for us to educate our children on the importance of healthy living and the positive impact that it has on our lives. I waited until adulthood to educate myself on and embrace a healthier lifestyle, so I have made a commitment to helping our children form healthy habits early.” says Founder and Director of Good Medicine Development, Tirrell McCoy in a press release.
