DETROIT (WXYZ) — Family members announced funeral arrangements for 18-day-old baby Lauren, who was found drowned a in bathtub Monday.
Baby Lauren's viewing and funeral service will be held at the O.H. Pye, III Funeral Home on Plymouth Road in Detroit.
The viewing was scheduled for Sept. 3 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Sept. 4 at 12:30 p.m.
Flowers can be sent to the funeral home beginning Tuesday, family says.
Baby Lauren will be laid to rest at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Van Dyke on the Detroit's east side.
On Aug. 26 at 5 a.m., prosecutors say 22-year-old Jaila Thomas, was allegedly drinking alone in her apartmentin the 19630 block of Schoenherr when she discovered her infant, Lauren Williams, unresponsive, floating face down in the bathtub.
Medics were called and pronounced the infant deceased. Investigation led to the arrest and charging of Thomas in the homicide of her daughter. Lauren died from drowning in the bathtub.
Thomas has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Child Abuse - Second Degree.
