Gas prices in metro Detroit are on the rise again this week while the statewide average has fallen.
According to AAA Michigan, gas in the area is up 2 cents to about $2.70 per gallon, while the state price is down about 2 cents to $2.69 per gallon.
AAA reports that the $2.70 per gallon price is about 27 cents more than this time last year, while the $2.69 statewide average is 24 cents higher than last year.
The lowest price in the state can be found near Flint where it's about $2.67 a gallon while the highest is near Ann Arbor at about $2.73 per gallon.
Michigan is 13th in the nation for most expensive gas price and 11th in the largest weekly increase.
