DETROIT (WXYZ) — A candy-apple red sports car might catch 11-year-old Jalen’s eye because he wants to design cool cars when he grows up.

“I want to be an engineer. Really, I like to build with Legos," he said. “I really want to learn how to build a car.”

“My favorite car is a Dodge Challenger Demon,” he explained and then added that he wants his future car to be red.

“My things that I like to do for fun is riding a bike and playing tag and just running around. Normally, I like to play at the park,” said Jalen.

He also enjoys basketball, roller skating, and video games.

I like movies -- Captain Marvel. If I could have any super power, I would have laser eyes,” he said.

“Jalen is a sweet, lovable, and charismatic young boy with so much drive,” said his worker.

His favorite subject in school is science.

“You can experience different things,” he said when asked why he likes science class.

He also likes computers, math, and gym class according to his worker.

Jalen has been in the foster care system waiting to adopted since May of 2016.

“I want to have a Mom, and I don’t want to be an only child. I would like brothers and sisters to play with. I really think I would be a big brother. [I’d] take up for them and make sure they don’t get hurt. I’m looking forward to having fun with them,” Jalen explained.

His worker said Jalen would do best with a Mom and a Dad with some experience parenting.
