Grant Me Hope: Daniel likes swimming, football, basketball, and bike riding

The happiest place on earth is one of Daniel’s dream destinations.  But this 13-year-old foster child is dreaming more about being adopted before he turns 18.

“I would like a sister or Mom and Dad or a brother. It doesn’t matter,” he said.

And he would love to travel with them to Disney World to see all the costumed characters. But being together is more important than the destination.

“What family means to me is just spending time with them and having fun time and hanging out with each other. Just traveling around,” Daniel explained.

He is a friendly guy who likes to put others at ease.

He’s described as engaging and curious by one of his workers.

“Daniel has a hilarious outlook on life and likes to make people laugh,” said the worker.

“I like to greet new people,” said Daniel. “I’m nice, I’m respectful…I like to do a lot of helping out around the house.”

He leads an active lifestyle.

“I play ultimate football. I play soccer,” he said.

He also likes swimming, riding bikes, basketball, and going to the park.

With all that activity, he can build up an appetite.

“I like to eat pizza, macaroni and cheese, goat cheese sandwiches. My favorite dessert is donuts,” he said.

Overall, he does well in school, and he takes pride in an academic honor he received.

When it comes to a future profession, he wants to be a police officer or a football player.

Daniel would love to own his own home one day…and have a dirt bike.

Right now, having his own room would be pretty cool in his eyes.

“Adoption to me is really important. I really want to get adopted,” said Daniel.

“I would like any family. It doesn’t matter as long as it’s a nice family. I guess I need a family to hang out [with] and just be loved,” he added.
