Bustin’ a move on the dance floor is the highlight of Genesis’ days. The 14-year-old who has spent time in foster care is hoping to be adopted by a family who likes dancing, too.
“I want to be a professional dancer some day,” Genesis said beaming.
And when it comes to music, she is open minded.
“I listen to everything. Whatever is on -- if it has a nice beat to it, and I like it -- I’ll listen to it,” she said with a smile.
She’s also very much into sports.
“I play volleyball, basketball, track. I’ve played soccer and [I’ve been] a cheerleader, and I’ve done power lifting,” she explained.
She likes P.E. because it spurs on her competitive spirit.
On the academic side of things, Spanish is her favorite class.
After dancing…being a chef is also an appealing idea for this food lover.
Cheesy offerings are among her go-to dishes.
“I love mac and cheese. It’s like my favorite food of all time,” she said enthusiastically.
Grilled cheese and pizza are also on her list – mainly because they have cheese on them.
Hanging out watching movies is one of her weekend traditions.
“I like watching TV. I like binge-watching on Netflix. Scary movies are the best,” she said.
If she had three wishes, Genesis said she’d wish for a big house, to become a professional dancer, and to have a really big pool.
But her primary goal is to find a forever family who will adopt her.
“The family that I would like – they could be loud, funny, adventurous, and like to travel,” she said thoughtfully.
“I’d like to live in the city,” she admitted. “I’m not much of a country girl.”
“I’m a caring person and really funny and outgoing and crazy,” she giggled.
“I would love to have a family to live with,” she added softly.
She’s been waiting to be adopted since August of 2015.
