DETROIT (WXYZ) — Watching a movie, playing soccer, or taking a hike in the woods would be fun for Isaiah. But the 14-year-old who’s currently in foster care hopes to share those experiences with a forever family soon.
The outdoorsy kid has been waiting to be adopted since August of 2015.
“I like to do yard work sometimes and do big projects or just play football or soccer or basketball with my friends,” he said.
Basketball and soccer are some of his favorite outdoor sports. But he also likes riding his bike and walking in the woods.
“His most recent area of interest is wilderness survival,” said his worker. “Isaiah would like to learn archery.”
He also enjoys being social in creative ways.
“I like to get all my friends together at the house and play a card game called ‘Magic: The Gathering,”he said.
When it comes to school, he loves the routine of it. His favorite subjects are reading and writing.
“I really like art class so I can draw and get to relax after lunch,” Isaiah said.
He’s also interested in ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian history.
“In the future I’d like to be a soldier just like my family has in the past,” said Isaiah.
“When it comes to family, I’d really appreciate having a mother to guide me through stuff and a having a father to continue pushing me on,” he explained.
