Throwing the football around like a champ! That’s a typical activity for Jacob – a 12-year-old boy in foster care who would like to be adopted by a family who enjoys sports.

“My favorite thing to do when I’m out of school is play sports. I play basketball and football,” said Jacob.

“I like running, I like to celebrate when we win games, and I like my teammates that I play with,” he added.

His worker describes him as a strong-willed, brave, and courageous boy who is a joy to be around.

“Jacob is a smart and bright young man,” said the worker.

He describes himself in three words:

“I am creative, athletic, and very kind,” said Jacob.

“My favorite artist is actually Eminem and Shawn Mendes,” he explained.

His favorite subjects in school are math, science, and gym.

“If I had a job, my job would be an entrepreneur. I would like to have my own business,” he said.

His favorite food is any kind of chicken.

“I love to cook. I like to cook tacos, fajitas, and I like to make salsa,” said Jacob.

“In my garden, I have a bunch of vegetables growing. I have apple trees. I have raspberries, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, other peppers, bell peppers,” he said with pride.

“I like that it’s creative and that you get to dig and [you see] the results. When you finish gardening, you’ll have a bunch of tomatoes and stuff,” Jacob said.

He looks forward to having fun with his future adoptive family.

“The word family means to me members in a family, loving, being nice, being kind, and not getting into fights, and respecting each other,” he listed.

“I would prefer [living] in the country. I would want to have a farm where I can grow crops,” he said softly.

“[I want] a single Dad or a single Mom or both. And the most important thing I want people to know about me is I’m kind, I’m very athletic, and I get along very well with others and meeting others,” Jacob added.

“I‘m a great kid and I would love to have a family to enjoy my life with,” he said thoughtfully.
