He’s a sharp-dressed teen with a dazzling smile. Javon – who is currently in foster care in Michigan -- hopes to be adopted one day.
“I love Mac N Cheese,” said Javon. “My favorite color is blue.”
“I like to dress nice,” he said proudly, showing off his pink vest and grey shirt.
“He has a great sense of humor,” said his worker. “Javon is very compassionate and has got a great smile, and he loves to be with adults and loves to be loved!”
“I mean he’s just infectious with joy,” added the worker.
The 16-year-old is in 10-th grade.
“Javon would probably do best in a home that sees him as being much younger than his chronological age. And [He] would require a lot of attention perhaps like you would give to an 8-year-old,” explained the worker.
Javon thrives on interactions, but the case workers said he can be independent – like sitting and watching movies or playing by himself.
“I like playing sports -- basketball. I play some defense. I box people out” Javon with a smile.
He enjoys cartoons including the movie Finding Nemo and the classic animated TV comedy series Tom and Jerry.
“He does quite well in school,” said the worker. “His social skills and language performance have improved considerably.”
“He’s one of the sweetest kids I’ve ever met in 28 years of doing this work,” the worker noted.
