DETROIT (WXYZ) — Making super heroes come to life on the page is just one of Rocky’s gifts. The 17-year-old -- who is currently in foster care -- likes to draw and hopes to one day share his creative spirit with an adoptive family.
“I draw animated characters – either actual characters or other characters I think of,” said Rocky.
He’s also an active teenager who likes tossing a ball around with friends.
“I love sports. I like to either play basketball or football,” he said.
He also likes to play cards with his buddies.
He describes himself as nice. “I care for people,”he explained.
When it comes to music, he likes hip hop and rap. Drake is one of his favorite artists.
As far as the movies are concerned, he’s into the Rambo series.
“Sylvester Stallone is my favorite actor,” said Rocky.
The 11th grader is also a big reader.
“I like to read the Harry Potter series, Gary Olsen books, and the Percy Jackson series,” Rocky said.
He’s also a good student who enjoys STEM subjects.
“I like science because in science you can do experiments which includes math – and math is easy. I like math because I like numbers. And with numbers you can do a lot of stuff,” he explained.
Rocky would like to go into the marines when he gets older.
“That way I can serve my country,” he said proudly.
“If I had one wish it would be to make the world a better place. If it was up to me, I would take away all the violence and negative stuff that’s in this world,” he said thoughtfully.
Rocky looks forward to being adopted before he graduates from high school.
“My vision of a family would be me, family members, male and female, boys and sisters, a mom and dad, pets, and people that cared about me and others,” said Rocky.
“I wish that I would be with a person that would care about me,” he added.
He hopes to be adopted before he ages out of the system at the age of 18.
