Grant Me Hope: Ryan likes The Brady Bunch, biking, playing games, and making jokes

Posted

If you’re down in the dumps, Ryan could probably lift your spirits in no time.  The foster child is a happy guy who’s hoping to be adopted.

“I like to ride bikes. I like to play games,” he said describing some of his favorite activities.

The 15-year-old also enjoys making people smile.

“I like to make jokes all the time. I like to be funny every day,” he explained. “I like to talk to people.”

His caseworker said that he’s a fun kid who gets along with everybody at the lodge where he lives.  He’s also very helpful.

“He’s constantly asking, ‘Hey, can I clean this? Can I do that?’ He’s always cleaning his roommate’s room with him, always doing his laundry…making sure his roommate’s bed is made,” said the caseworker.

And that kind, considerate quality shines through in whatever he does.

“He’s a very honest kid. He will go on bike rides and take a trash can and bring back pop bottles and trash because he wants to help the earth,” said the caseworker.

In his spare time, Ryan enjoys watching some pop culture classics.

“I like to watch movies -- Ninja Warriors, The Brady Bunch. Have you heard about The Brady Bunch? Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!” he said with a chuckle.

“If I had 3 wishes, one is to see my brother and sister. The other one is to get another family to care about me.  If I had a family, I would help people out if they do need help,” said Ryan.

And his dreams of family bonding are pretty simple.

“If I had a family, I’d like to spend time with them and talk,” he said. “I would want to have brothers and sisters.”
