Immersing herself in a good book is one of Shantoria’s favorite things to do.  This 14-year-old in foster care hopes to share her love of reading with a future adoptive family soon.

The “Dragonball Z” book series is one of her favorites.

She has a vivid imagination.

“My favorite thing in the world is animes. I like anime movies, books. I like to draw, too,” she explained.

“I like to dress up, and I like to have dance parties and stuff,” she added.

When Shantoria grows up, she’d like to become a singer.

She describes her personality as fun, kind, daring, and brave.

“My three wishes would be to go to Chicago, to be a princess, and meet all the other Ninjas,” she said with a smile admitting that these were ‘funny’ wishes.

Her sincere wish is to be adopted one day.

“I’ve been in placement since I was 10, and it would be good if I got adopted so I won’t keep going placement-to-placement feeling like I don’t have nowhere to go,” she explained.

When asked what adoption means to her, she listed several points.

“Finding a home that’s perfect for you, that can take care of you, be there for you through your bad and good times, and someone that loves you for who you are, and somebody who will protect you,” she said thoughtfully.

She’d be happy in a family with a Mom and a Dad or just a single Mom.

“I want them to be nice and kind. I want to be the only daughter. And I want a baby puppy,” said Shantoria. “I’m looking forward to finding a family really soon.”
