GROSSE POINTE FARMS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Grosse Pointe police are looking for a suspect Thursday after an armed robbery occurred at a store in the area of Mack and Chalfonte.
"At approximately 7:40 am, a subject entered the Village Food Market at Mack Avenue & McKinley Avenue. The subject committed a retail fraud and when confronted by a store employee, displayed what appeared to be a handgun. The subject left the store on foot and was last seen walking eastbound down the Mack Avenue alley towards Moran Road," Grosse Pointe police said.

As a precaution, Brownell Middle School was placed on lockdown.

“Police are actively looking for a male subject wearing tan, pants, dark jacket...possible Amazon vest,” Grosse Pointe police said.
Police say the subject may be in the possession of a handgun.
Yards in the Mack/Chalfonte area were searched.
"Grosse Pointe Farms Public Safety and other mutual aid cities immediately responded to the situation. A perimeter was set, and officers checked the area for the subject. GPF drone unit was also deployed," police said.
