The Henry Ford announced Wednesday that Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village is returning for its 40th year this fall.

The event has been reimagined to make sure guests stay safe amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It will run 15 nights from Oct. 8-11, 15-18, 22-25 and 29-31. Tickets go on sale Sept. 16 to the public.

Instead of a walking path like previous years, this year will have a festival-like atmosphere with more than 1,000 hand-carved jack-o-lanterns, more than 50 costumed characters and a storybook experience.

Plus, there will be a brand-new train adventure on the Hallowe'en Express that will require advanced timed reservations.

Treats, drinks and craft beer will still be available for purchase at treat stations, the Hallowe'en Fairy Tale Fest and Eagle Tavern Harvest Supper will not happen this year.

Daytime operations at Greenfield Village will close Oct. 5 but they expect to bring them back for weekends in November.
