FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Harrison High School in Farmington Hills is becoming a community center.

The groundbreaking will take place Monday evening at 6 p.m.

The center is going to be called The Hawk, named for the Harrison mascot.

The city's parks and recreation commission will break up the concrete on the east side of the building, where the main entrance will be built.

Farmington Hills bought the building in 2018 and officially took possession of the building and the grounds at the end of the school year in June 2019.

The Hawk will eventually offer activities including live theater, swimming and fitness programs.
