The funeral for fallen Detroit Police Officer Fadi Shukur took place Monday morning as hundreds gathered at the St. George Chaldean Catholic Church in Utica.

Shukur died on Wednesday after being injured in a hit-and-run earlier this month.

During his funeral, his "end of watch" call was played over the speakers. Watch the video above with the translation below.

Let it be known that Detroit Police Officer Fadi Shukur, badge 556, served his community and his country with compassion, pride and a loyal dedication to duty.

He departed this earth on August 15, 2018.

Officer Shukur, we thank you for your distinguished service. You will never be forgotten in your devotion to your family, friends and law enforcement community.
