OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two suspects have been arrested following a high-speed police chase that ended in a crash in Sterling Heights Wednesday.

The chase started in Detroit and continued throughout Oakland County before ending in Sterling Heights.

Eastpointe police tell us they got a call around 11 a.m. for a possible carjacking at a Dollar General on Gratiot. Michigan State Police assisted an CBP aviation unit that was following the armed carjacking suspects.

They say the suspect's car that crashed was stolen, and several police agencies were involved in the chase.

In a Twitter post, MSP investigators say troopers and the aviation unit tried stopping the driver on Metro Parkway. The suspect then led troopers on a pursuit in a subdivision along Metro Parkway and then eastbound through several other cities.

When the suspect driver approached Dodge Park, that's when he lost control of the alleged stolen vehicle, hit a curb and rolled over several times. Both suspects that were inside the vehicle received non-life threatening injuries and were taken to a local hospital where they are now in the custody of the Eastpointe Police Department.

A source tells 7 Action News that the suspect was wanted for several armed robberies, including a carjacking. The condition of the driver and passenger are currently unknown.
