Some homeowners who have been in the city for decades say it is the worst they've ever seen.
The water is coming from the north branch of Ecorse Creek – basements, furnaces and floors were all full of water Wednesday. Some people were pumping water from their homes, only to have it come back through doors.
Other people had to be rescued by boat, including a person who is bed-ridden and a mother-to-be.
"We were just trapped upstairs. No food, no heat, we had to turn off the gas," said Danii Cummings.
