DETROIT (WXYZ) — Police are investigating a single-vehicle accident that left a pregnant woman dead on Detroit's west side Friday evening.
The woman was traveling eastbound on West 7 Mile approaching Berg Road, when she lost control of her car and crashed into a light pole.
The impact split the woman's vehicle and the light pole in half. Police say she was ejected out of vehicle. No other passengers were in the vehicle, according to police.
Right now, police say speed played a factor in the collision.
Medics took the woman to a nearby hospital where she later died, police say.
