NOAA's Hurricane Forecast for 2020 is out and it appears we're expecting an above average season. The season started officially June 1st.
Here's the official forecast:
You'll probably notice the note on the bottom showing a few storms, which have formed prior to June 1st. We had an early start to the season and the tropics are still active. At the time of writing this article we have an active tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico. This storm could be a threat to the United States later this week and is worth watching for further intensification.
