DETROIT (WXYZ) — After 42-years, an iconic bartender in Detroit's Midtown is pouring her last drink Wednesday.

Charleen Dexter, 69, started pouring drinks at the Bronx Bar in the Cass Corridor back in 1977. At that time, she was 27-years-old and a single mother.

Since then, Dexter has become a fixture in the local bar scene. Known for her sassy attitude and vulgar vocabulary, she became known as the "Queen of the Bronx Bar."

Her job at the Bronx will likely be her last, but she's ready for what the next chapter of her life will bring.
