FARMINGTON, Mich. (WXYZ) — A fast food restaurant in Farmington will be closed for business after a fire Thursday morning.
A patrol officer was driving in the area of 8 Mile and Farmington Road when he noticed black smoke coming from the roof of the KFC.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they found out the flames had started in the kitchen.
The restaurant was evacuated and nobody was hurt, but officials say the building suffered heavy damage.
It is not known how long it will take for the KFC to reopen.
The Magic Cleaners business next door also suffered smoke damage, but it is expected to re-open soon.
