You’ve heard the phrase: What’s in a name?
The news that the new Red Wings arena would bear the Little Caesars brand likely wasn’t a shock, but the new question is: What’s in a roof?
The folks over at Olympia Entertainment have been pretty excited about the new paint work taking place atop the new Little Caesars Arena rooftop. They’ve noted that it’s the largest Little Caesars logo in the world, and that a local is in charge of painting it.
Twitter trolls, however, have noted something different. Specifically, that the rooftop of the arena looks nothing like the original renderings.
One fan noting, “The roof WAS supposed to light up in the teams logo....remember those days?”
Others calling on the internet to re-work the view of the new logo as a crying Jordan face.

It should be noted that a lot has changed since the initial reveal of the renderings for the Little Caesars Arena. In addition to gaining a sponsor, the arena has gained a second team.
As some have noted, coming to the defense of the new arena, it’d be silly to have the Detroit Pistons playing basketball inside an arena with the historic Detroit Red Wings winged wheel.
Looks great! Silence all the haters! Mr I is smiling down! Only fitting the owners business gets the corporate sponsorship! #Hockeytown

As for the LED lighting on the rooftop, that portion of the plan was ditched months ago.
There is roughly two months left until the opening of Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
