(WXYZ) — The Mackinac Bridge is partially closed due to excessive winds.
MDOT says the bridge is closed to all vehicles except passenger cars, vans and empty pickups. Winds are over 50 miles per hour.
Those permitted to travel on the bridge are asked to reduce speed to 20 miles per hour when approaching the bridge and be prepared to stop.
There is personnel stationed at both ends of the bridge that will provide instructions on how to proceed.
