Senator Gary Peters, Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel and others discussed better transportation options ranging from smarter car technology to more efficient public transportation systems during the 2016 Mackinac Policy Conference.
Peters said he is looking forward to the continuous advancing of car technology and the possibility of safer streets over the next few years because of connective technology.
Other concerns discussed included selling the cost of these new improvements to public transportation. But legislators said that they are confident that with an efficient plan and accountability they can get it done.
