TROY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Troy police say a man is in custody for allegedly taking upskirt photos of a teen inside the Somerset Collection on Friday.
According to police, it happened around 3:55 p.m. when officers were alerted that the suspect, 36-year-old Kristopher Murray, was following the 16-year-old female closely on the escalator and taking the photos.
The teen said she was not aware she was being photographed, but did notice someone standing closely.
An officer on scene was able to find Murray and arrest him. Murray is from Clinton Township.
Murray was charged with one count of capturing an image of an unclothed person, a 5-year felony, and one county of using a computer to commit a crime, a 7-year felony.
He was arraigned on Saturday and given a $10,000 cash/surety bond with 10%. He bonded out and is scheduled to be in court on March 5.
