ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — A 90-year-old man in Rochester Hills was injured when a man broke into his home, attacked him and said, he wanted to watch someone die before he killed himself on Monday.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, a neighbor found the condo in the 1600 block of Huntington Park with a broken window on the lower level and blood on the window.

Deputies arrived and made entry into the home and heard a faint voice asking for help. Deputies found a dead person in the doorway of one of the rooms, and the 90-year-old was found further in the room with visible injuries.

The victim told police he heard glass break into his home, went to investigate and was then attacked.

The suspect, a 44-year-old Rochester Hills man, used furniture to go after the elderly man and said he wanted to see someone die before killing himself.

The victim then pretended to be dead and the suspected stopped the attack. Shortly after, the suspect collapsed and died due to his wounds when he came through the victim's window.

Police say the victim didn't know the suspect. The victim is in serious but stable condition.
