Ferndale Police say they have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that occurred in the 1700 block of E. Hazelhurst earlier this month.
Police tell 7 Action News Somate Jalen Russell shot a man who was sitting with a woman inside of a vehicle on the block in an attempted robbery. The woman told police they were approached by two suspects with guns drawn--when one of them began shooting.
The 20-year-old man was hit twice in the head. The woman was not injured.
Russell is facing armed robbery, attempted murder and firearm charges.
Police say the investigation is ongoing. They believe at least two more people were involved, the second attempted robber and a driver.
