LANSING, Mich. (WXYZ) — A Genesee County man is much richer after hitting a $1 million prize on a Michigan Lottery instant game. The man, who wanted to remain anonymous, won the prize on the Millionaire Maker scratch off.
The 56-year-old bought the ticket at Mike's Super Save in Burton, and said he always buys his tickets at that store.
“I scratched the ticket off in the parking lot and a wave of excitement hit me as soon as I revealed the ‘1MIL’ symbol!” he said.
The man chose a one-time lump sum payment of around $634,000, rather than annual payments for the full amount, and he plans to use the winnings to retire early.
