DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 36-year-old man was killed Monday evening while attempting to cross the Southfield Freeway near the Grand River exit on Detroit's west side.
Police say the man was attempted to cross from the east side of Southfield Freeway to the west side. He crossed the northbound side and was attempting to cross the southbound lanes when he was struck by two vehicles.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 36 year old male was attempting to cross from the east side of M-39 to the west side. He crossed the northbound side and was attempting to cross the southbound lanes when he was struck by two vehicles.

The freeway was closed for several hours Monday night.
