DTE crews remained on scene for several hours after a man was shocked by a down power line.

This happened around 3:15 p.m., according to witnesses.

First responders tell 7 Action News they are still trying to figure out if the man was on a bike when this accident happened near Greenfield and McNichols on the city's west side.

We're told lightning struck a power pole, causing a power line to get loose, eventually shocking a man. He was taken to the hospital, but should make a full recovery.

The line continued to smolder for hours, even though crews on scene say the hazard was eliminated and the wires were secure.

Around the same time that man was shocked, another lightning strike caused a fire.

DTE crews say lightning hit another pole near Verne and Mansfield, Verne and Rutherford, knocking down two power lines and causing small fires.

A buzzing noise from the lines could be heard for a city block.

It took about two hours before crews were able to cut the lines.

With standing water all around the area, they are once again warning residents to not touch the lines.

A second round of even stronger storms are scheduled to make their way through the area after 8:--pm
