Meijer's home delivery service begins today in southeast Michigan.
Grocery shoppers can sign up for the Shipt app to have items delivered right to their homes.
More than 55,000 grocery items will be offered, as well as select baby, health and beauty products.
Twenty-five Meijer stores in southeast Michigan will participate in the home shipping. You can choose an hour window that will work for you.
"People are just busy. They are always looking for ways to save time and they are seeking convenience," says Art Sebastian, Meijer's Director of Digital Shopping.
It is a membership-based service that offers annual and monthly plans with free delivery on purchases over $35.
Shipt will deliver 7 days a week and offer 24-hour service depending on store location and hours.

"If you don't want to commit to the full year, you can try it for a month and see if it fits your needs and then if you are ready to commit for the whole year, you have that option as well," Sebastian says.
Items that are not eligible for delivery include, but are not limited to the following: alcohol, tobacco, fireworks, propane tanks, lottery tickets, prescriptions, automotive, hunting and fishing, photo, sporting goods, media, select electronics, toys, floral, home goods, jewelry and clothing.
Shipt is also in the process of hiring 300 shoppers in southeast Michigan.
