Metro Detroit Forecast: Rain and storms this weekend

Posted
and last updated

Showers and storms will be moving through Metro Detroit over the next 72 hours due to a slow moving boundary. Saturday night we'll have a chance of seeing storms north of Detroit but a better opportunity for rain arrives on Sunday for the whole area. The "Muggy Meter" will climb tonight thru Sunday providing fuel for storms while adding a slight heat index in the low 90s.

Heavy rain returns again on Monday thanks to a passing cold front bring showers and storms, that could be heavy. At the moment, it doesn't appear that severe weather is likely but some storms could be strong. After Monday's storms, a drier & cooler air mass will follow bringing nights in the 50s and highs struggling to reach 80 by the middle of next week.
