Roseville High School sent a list of prohibited clothing for the upcoming school year, and the list included the American flag.

The dress code sparked emotions on social media after several parents posted a picture of the list on Facebook.

“Are they not going to fly the American flag either,” wrote one person.

Other prohibited items included sagging pants, pajamas, spandex as outerwear, muscle shirts and low cut shirts.

Roseville High School representatives posted on the Roseville Community SchoolsFacebook page that the packet was sent out with an error.

“We apologize for the incorrect statement that was in reference to the US Flag. The statement that was published should have specified that the flag should not be worn in a demeaning manner.”

The post went on to say the school would never ban the “appropriate display of the American Flag.”
