(WXYZ) — Detroit City Football Club announced Thursday that Pleasantrees, a Michigan-based cannabis company, will be the team's official training partner for its first professional season.
With the partnership, Pleasantrees will have its logo on both the DCFC men's and women's training jerseys throughout the season. Also, the West Field at the Detroit City Fieldhouse will be renamed the Pleasantrees Field.
The fieldhouse will also feature a rotation of cannabis-inspired activiations throughout the season.
“We’re excited to be partnering with a leader in a growing industry here in Michigan, especially one that is committed to the community,” DCFC Co-Owner Sean Mann said in a release.
“A partnership with DCFC was a natural fit, since it’s our mission at Pleasantrees to help people enjoy more of life’s pleasures,” said Randall Buchman, Pleasantrees Chief Executive Officer. “DCFC has been building community and positive spirit for 10 years, and we are honored to be part of this club’s future as they continue to reach new heights.”
Pleasantres was founded in 2018 and specializes in producing and distributing cannabis products from facilities in Harrison Township. Their first retail location is planned in East Lansing this spring with plans for 11 other stores in Michigan.
